April 2, 2020

Packed full of funk and flavour, Reggae and Hip-Hop artist Rubi Du has released her four-track EP ‘Most High’.

Following a successful 2020 summer run on some of New Zealand’s biggest stages alongside the likes of Fat Freddy’s Drop, JessB, Big Zeeks and more, The Auckland based Rubi Du (formerly known as SilvaMC) has solidified herself as the Queen of New Zealand’s Roots/Dancehall scene.

‘Most High’ sees Rubi make full use of her raw and sultry voice and across the four tracks, the artist’s lyrical versatility is on display. Full of heavy basslines and melodic vocals ‘Most High’ is a captivating listen made for any mood. Beginning with the down-tempo Roots number ‘Highest’’, paying homage to her love for the herbal remedies, the EP then introduces more dance anthems such as ‘One Spirit’ and ‘Most High’.

Rubi Du’s Caribbean heritage and Rastafarian childhood shine through in her music, setting up a unique and unforgettable style. Boasting heavy basslines and melodic vocals, Rubi Du has set a high standard for South Pacific reggae and dancehall to come.
