New Zealand folk-pop duo Looking for Alaska have returned with the new single “Fall Into You.”
Looking For Alaska released their sophomore self-titled debut album in 2016 which spent 12 weeks on the NZ album charts and was nominated for “Best Debut Album” at the 2017 NZ Taite music awards. “Fall Into You” is the first single from their upcoming album “Light and Shadow” which is set to be released later in the year.
“Fall Into You” is a fun indie-pop song. Aaron Gott and Amy Maynard have delivered a new single that captures the essence of what makes Looking For Alaska such an interesting project. “Fall Into You” builds upon the sound that the band established in their first album. Looking For Alaska incorporates elements of folk, pop, country and indie music to create a moody, heartfelt track that will please both fans and newcomers.
Looking for Alaska is an ambitious project. The duo is not afraid to use an extended range of instruments to create their signature sound. Fiddle virtuoso Pascal Roggen (NZ’s Albi & The Wolves, UKs Shez Raja) makes a special appearance on the track and it works masterfully well. The blending of instruments gives “Fall Into You” a very unique sound.
Amy Maynard gives a fantastic vocal performance on this track. Maynard has a very angelic voice that lends itself well to the genre. “Fall Into You” is a heartfelt song about longing for someone and the emotion and range of Maynard’s vocal performance on the track make “Fall Into You” an exceptional first single for the forthcoming album.
